What is NakaIma?

Nakaima is a Japanese expression meaning “inside of now”, with naka- meaning “inside”, and -ima meaning “now”. It poses the question, can we be here, now, and how much? Everyone comes to therapy for different reasons, but at the core of how healing can actively take place is to be in our authentic and vulnerable selves, in whatever form that may be. In order to live in our joy fully, we also must be able to move through our pain.

The invitation I offer to you, is simply to be here, now. Imagine what it would be like to be able to feel the freedom to exist in your true self from moment to moment, day by day. There is a way when people are feeling open to life that they open their chest and spread their arms out like wings ready to fly. They are drinking in all the beauty of being here. When we can allow ourselves to come forward and move through our blocks, we have room to enjoy and live fuller and more fulfilling lives. Be curious about yourself! There can be a real joy in it. I invite you to feel awake, present and here in this moment and all the ones to come. You deserve to be here.
