Get Grounded

Do you find yourself sometimes having an out of body experience?  Or maybe you are feeling like your feet are not hitting the ground all the way.  Do you feel off center?  Are you struggling to get in touch with your inner voice?  An intentional grounding meditation may be the right choice for you.

Start by taking some long deep breaths.  If you are having trouble, that is ok, but see if you can slow your breathing a little.  Next, see if you can feel your feet on the floor.  You can do this either sitting or standing, but if you are having a hard time feeling your feet, I recommend standing up.  Begin to apply some pressure to your feet.  Let yourself feel the weight of your body pushing into your feet into the ground, allowing yourself to feel gravity holding you down to the earth.  You can also touch or tap your legs to help yourself feel yourself grounded and sturdy in your legs.

Healing the Body

Do you feel wound up or frozen?  While this activity is specifically designed for healing sexual trauma in the body, it can also help anyone who feels wound up to let their body relax and expand.  In this video, Peter Levine explains the power of the using the "vu" in your nervous system and then will lead you through the activity.  Come back to this as a guide any time you need a reminder.
